I'm dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health and well-being through natural and holistic approaches. Welcome to my practice!
I began my journey in health and wellness with a deep interest in how I could help others. After years of working as a registered nurse, complications from a dysregulated immune system opened my eyes to overlooked areas in my healthcare. I became interested in how toxin exposure, nutrition, and natural therapies can impact overall health.
After completing my studies in clinical nutrition, functional holistic health, and NET stress reduction techniques, I became a Certified Functional and Holistic Health Practitioner. For over 10 years, I honed my skills in natural healing and functional holistic healthcare.
I’ve worked with a diverse range of patients throughout my career. It’s been a privilege helping them navigate through a host of health challenges from digestive issues and toxin exposure and clearance to preventative care and stress management.
Each patient’s body and wellness journey is unique, and I provide navigation on each patient’s individual path. My aim is to partner with you on your health journey, offering guidance and support when you encounter a challenge.
If you’re ready to take the next step towards more vibrant health, I invite you to schedule a free consultation. Let’s work together to reach your wellness goals and create a life you truly love.

All of these terms often intersect with each other but are distinctive unto themselves.
Functional Health focuses on identifying the root cause of illness by treating each patient as a unique case. This technique takes into account things like your environment, lifestyle, family history, and symptoms. Since all of these elements are different for every unique body, you’re treated as a respected individual.
Holistic Health is an approach that takes your health as a whole into account – the complete mind, body, and spirit. Holistic health also makes identifying the root cause of illness the priority and can be combined with both natural and conventional practices.
Naturopathic Health uses natural remedies, such as food or exercise, to help the body heal itself. Board-certified naturopaths usually have both a functional and naturopathic approach, but substitute medication for natural options when it comes to treatment.
Alternative Health refers to any treatment that uses methods conventional healthcare would consider unorthodox. For example, using a diet change to alleviate symptoms instead of medication. Naturopathic health often falls under this umbrella.
A GAPS Practitioner is a certified Practitioner, by the one and only, Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD, MMedSci(neurology), MMedSci(nutrition). She is the founder of Gut and Psychology/Physiology Syndrome.
Patricia is specially trained to help you navigate through the GAPS Diet protocol. This includes oversight through the intro stages, the full GAPS diet, cooking techniques, and controlling the healing crisis that arises as the body heals.
GAPS Practitioners are the ones who have the answers when the internet gives conflicting information. If you’re planning to begin the GAPS diet, it’s so much easier and safer to do so with a GAPS Practitioner in your corner. It’s highly recommended to consult one before attempting the GAPS Diet.

You’ll start with a free consultation with certified functional and holistic health practitioner Patricia Dotson. After this initial visit, you’ll do lab testing. Lab testing is vital to the process and gives more information to the practitioner to work with.
Next, you’ll discuss the lab results, your history, and more at your Initial client visit. This visit is a great introduction to functional and holistic health as we cover all the bases to pinpoint possible underlying causes. The visit lasts an hour and thirty minutes, so there’s plenty of time to discuss every detail. You’ll leave with a supplement plan, a nutrition and lifestyle plan, and next steps.
What comes next depends on what’s discovered in this first phase.
Yes. Nutrition & Wellness of the Rockies offers a Neuro-Emotional Technique, a stress reduction technique. Unresolved stress often has an associated ‘response in the brain’ that can trigger chronic mind and body problems.
